Working: Here’s What February and March 2017 Looked Like For Me

Here's What February and March 2017 Looked Like For Me

Ok. Ok. OK! Is it too late now to say SOOOORRYYYYY? I’ve been working really hard this last month and a half.

I have to start this blog post by humbling apologising. For those who were following my journalling series back in January. I started something that I knew I couldn’t finish.

But, being the ambitious girl that I am. *cue* the Wale track *cue* It was an unrealistic goal I set for myself. Knowing I could not commit to writing a new blog post EVERY SINGLE DAY. I went ahead and told myself I could do it.

Here we are almost 2 months later and SO MUCH has happened since January 31st. Like seriously! I won’t bore you with too many details but I do think it would be nice for you to know what’s been up with me. As well as where I plan to go for the rest of 2017.

Why Haven’t I Blogged Since January 31, 2017?

I have a day job! To be frank. From 8 AM until 6 PM I am travelling to/from work and actually working. Outside of my day job. I am a side hustler trying to become a freelancer. At the writing of this post. I have 5 projects I am working on.

They do not all need the same time commitment. But, with less than 8 hours left in my day outside of working and sleeping. Time management has been a focus on for me since January 2017.

This year got off to a great start, as you may remember from this blog post.

One accomplishment I am happy to share is that I worked with the 1996 executive team. I was responsible for managing their social media. As a fan of the event, that was major!

What Is The Rest of March 2017 Looking Like?

Right now. I am working on preparing for the upcoming IGLOO event on Saturday, May 6. This is my 3 year running the social media accounts for the event. #consistency

I am also beginning to plan the social media plan for the PXP Festival in Atlanta, GA this Labour Day Weekend. Taking place Sunday, September 3.

Outside of working with my current clients and looking for new ones. I launched a beauty/natural hair brand, Dear Curl Friend. We recently celebrated reaching a milestone of 1K followers on Instagram.

The next step for that brand is to continue to look for content creators. That can submit content to featured on the website. If you know a blogger, YouTuber, or enthusiast within the beauty industry. Direct him/her to this link to fill out the DCF Contributor application form.

I’m Working to Bring the Journalling Back

So it will NOT be a daily journal. I can commit to creating 2 new journal entries per month. You can understand with all that I got going on. Twice per month may be a stretch, but we will see how it goes!

The trend for the rest of March into April is to be focused! One thing at a time, of course. Doing more than one thing at a time is distracting! Says the girl is always doing a minimum of 3 things at one time.
