Right Now: Here's What I Can Do To Get Close To Where I Want To Be

This weekend was a much relaxing as it was tiring. Right now. I want to go to bed. I want to sleep! But, I am fueled by passion. The hustle and the grind. Keep me up passed my bedtime. Writing this next journal entry.

Like most people. I am trying to get closer to the life I want to live. There is a life I value more than the one I currently have. Not that my current life is bad. But, I know the best is yet to come.

While most like to think that if you believe hard enough with no action. You will get everything that you want. Belief is important. It’s where we start! But, without action. Our beliefs are dreams that will never come true the way we want them to.

Entry 007: Something you could do right now to get you closer to where you want to be in life.

This is actually a pretty easy one for me to write about. That is because I have already begun to do that ONE THING right now to get me closer to the life I want.

It was to seek deeper, more meaningful connections. I want to build relationships where there is an equal balance of giving and taking.

Step #1

The first step I made in this effort was to return to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. I decided to volunteer with intention at Buckhead Church. My weekly commitment allows me to fulfill my second desire, which was to attend church on a regular basis.

Step #2

The next step was to make plans with my friends that were intentional and recurring. Right now, every Tuesday and Thursday evening, I watch Being Mary Jane and Scandal with my neighbour!

Step #3

The final step to get me closer to where I want to be in life was to connect with like-minded women. Women who are active in their pursuit of spiritual growth. I wanted to connect with women who want to support the growth of others. As much as they want to receive that support.

From these 3 actions. I have found my mindset shift was easier to accept. Incorporating a daily morning ritual has helped as well.

The likelihood of my emotions controlling me in 2017 is not as high as in 2016. I can say that my intentional pursuit of change has played an instrumental role as well. Disclaimer: I’m still working on this. So, if you see me in my feelings. Remember. I’m a work in progress.

There is much more ground to cover on this journey. I look forward to getting to my destination. But, right now, I am enjoying the journey.
